'blogs I follow' shows blogs I don't
-
I’ve been trying different widgets and added ‘Blogs I follow’ to my site. Today when I did a review of my pages I found a whole load of blogs listed, most of which are in foreign languages, and which I’ve never heard of. The one blog that I had added when I set this up has disappeared. I went back to the widget and the only options I can see are how many to follow (I’ve got 20). How can I remove all these foreigners?
Thanks for any help. I’m very new at this WordPress stuff, so there’s a lot I don’t understand.

Widgets won’t help you manage links. When I want to do Blogs I follow, I go to the Links and I get the choice of All links or Add New. If I click on All Links I can delete whatever I don’t still follow. “Add new” is just what it says: you type in the URL and other info.
Now, as to why you suddenly have so many links to blogs you don’t follow, that I can’t say. I’m just another blogger; the WP Support team can answer that one. I’d wonder, does anyone else have access as an administrator or contributor to your blog? You can verify that by clicking on People (on the left pop-out bar.)

One possibility:
Taking a good look at your blog, I see you have a lot of links to the Friday Fictioneers group members. Have you posted stories in response to the FF prompts? Or have you read a number of the responses from other bloggers? If so, you may have done the same thing I have, clicked on the “Notify me of new posts,” instead of hitting the “Notify me of new comments” button. Then suddenly you’re getting posts you never knew you subscribed to
