Blogs not hitting company website

Hi,
So I work for a company that uses WordPress for blogs that are linked to our company website. For some reason the blogs that we post haven’t been pulling over to our website since November and we have no idea why. I have only recently been introduced to WordPress as the person who usually uses it for our blogs has left, so I am a little our of my depth! We also tried editing a blog to see if we would change the date on the our website to make it look up to date.. and now that blog has completely disappeared. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your blog is actually working fine, the problem is on your website, and I don’t have any way to help you fix that :(
My best guess is your website pulls information from your blog to your website using RSS, and the RSS feed broke in November. If I’m right and you can fix the feed, the site should start working again.
We also tried editing a blog to see if we would change the date on the our website to make it look up to date.. and now that blog has completely disappeared.
As you discovered, this won’t work. the dates are woven into to the urls of the posts, so when you change them, the link doesn’t work anymore.

If you find one on your site that looks almost like that but starts with http:// instead, replacing that feed (or just adding the “s” in the right place) should fix it.

Found where you change the link on our website admin and its still not working :( thank you anyway though! At least know I know its a web based issue and not to do with WordPress which is more than what I knew before!

could it be anything apart from the RSS feed. I’ve just had another look at there’s a link on our blog page saying ‘latest blogs’ and all the blogs are on there. They’re just not updating in the list. Or is this still the same RSS problem?

It’s likely the same RSS problem.
Is the person who left the same person who maintained your website? If not, your main web person should also be able to help.

we used to outsource web issues to the company that made our website but the account was cancelled in 2011 and this is the first problem since. the guy before me was only here for 3 months so he has no clue either!
this will be the last question I promise! But I’ve been playing around with the coding on our website to see if I can fix it and everything I change, changes that link to all our blogs and I was wondering if I need to add something to get it to update the list if that makes sense?

Our forum software blocks direct pasting of code, so I can’t see what you’ve shared. If you paste the code using the code tags I may be able to see it. That having been said, since the problem is not with your blog, you will have better luck if you contact the company that made your site.
