Blogs not showing on page, just in sidebar

    Hi there,

Somehow my posts are not shown on the blog page. I can only see the title in the sidebar. And the image I add to the posts are not showing either.

    Cheers!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This is a one or the other situation. You have two choices on any blog
    (1) All posts on the front page ie. the Home page. By default that is the URL of the site.

    (2) A static front page http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/ and all posts on a different page.

By default the front page of your blog displays all published posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. That is for the convenience of your returning visitors, who come to read your latest post, and who are not likely to be happy with being compelled to click through the same static page with the same blah, blah, blah on it every time they visit the blog looking for the latest post.

However, if you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts. Create your pages first
    Front page:
    Posts page:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/

After you do that you go to > Dashboard > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/

    A static page (select below)
    Front page:
    Posts page:

Go to http://2lightenup.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php and make the required change.

    Front page displays
    Save changes
    __ Your latest posts

  • Hi @2lightenup!

It looks like you’re partway through setting up the second option (using a static front page) that @timethief described.

Where do you want your blog posts to be display? On the front page of your site or on a secondary page? :)

Thank you guys for your responses!

I am still setting up yes and getting familiar with it. I’m not really a computerwhizzkid XD, so it is trial and error for now.

I would like my blogposts to show on my blog page (which should be my primary page if I set it up correctly).

    Yes! I fixed it!

@timethief: I had to change the static page thing yes. Thank you! I didn’t even know there was a page for reader settings XD. Getting there.

Next problem: now it is showing on my general page: 2lightenup.wordpress.com. But when I select the blog-page it doesn’t show on that one. The last is what I’d like more.

  • It looks like you have set the Static Front Page setting to the Your latest posts option. That means that your blog posts will appear on the front page of your site, at this address:
    https://2lightenup.wordpress.com/

The ‘Blog’ link in your menu, points to this page:
    https://2lightenup.wordpress.com/blog/

Which is empty. If you’d like the blog posts on the front page of your site, AND have the ‘Blog’ link in your menu lead to that front page, you can edit the link by modifying your menu through My Site > Menus.

Click on the Pencil icon next to Blog and set it to be a Page link, pointing to the Home (site) option. You can edit the link if needed to make sure it still says Blog (or Home, or whatever you’d like it to say).
