Blog/site address change cannot be reversed?
-
Hi,
I want to change the name of my site address just temporarily and then go back to the original one. I seems like it will be not possible, but I wanted to double check if there might be a way around.
For instance, I was thinking that if I decide to go for the option “Yes, please permanently disable XXXX.wordpress.com “, doesn’t it became available again for anyone to use?
Many thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Nope, never, not even you can use it again.
Changing a domain name in this way is a terrible idea because each time you do it, you lose all search engine ranking and start over from zero, as if you had a new blog with no incoming links.
You can do it by registering the “other” URL and just transferring content into it and setting the old one private. Then you can trnsfer it back later.
