Hi today I seem to be having problems with WordPress and my blogsite. Everything is appearing in a long list instead of in the appearance designed format. Even the WordPress website is going this. Is anyone else experiencing this problem. Thanks.

Hi Thanks for leaving a comment. Relieved it is not just me. Have spent the whole morning trying to solve it. Like you I tried clearing the cache. I think it is a problem with the WordPress website so hopefully they will resolve soon. Thanks

Yes, I am seeing just the same thing exactly: viewing the blogs, my dashboard, these support forum pages and wordpress.com itself.
Having done some investigation, I think the problem is that I cannot connect to the CSS on s0.wp.com, s1.wp.com and s2.wp.com. If I try to load these stylesheets directly (see the URLs in Source view) I am not able to connect. This is true with all 4 browsers I have.
If I validate the CSS of wordpress.com using the W3C validator it can find the stylesheets, so it doesn’t look as though it is server problem.
However, I have looked at my browser settings (cookies, cache, Flash update, trusted sites, everything) and nothing is wrong there.
I have also looked at my anti-virus, as I have recently upgraded it (Avast) but it reports that it has not blocked any files, web or network traffic.
I have also looked at my firewall, but that doesn’t seem to be blocking it either and I haven’t changed its setting recently.
Since others have this problem, I wonder if the issue may be an intermediate server?
I think it is unlikely to be the ISP directly as I’m using a very small one (Phonecoop).
Anyone any other ideas? What else is there to check?!

    Sorry, forgot blog URL: http://1652country.wordpress.com
Also, it was an update to Avast, rather than an upgrade. The version is 7.0.1466 in case that’s common to others.
I cleared my cache as well, to no avail.

Hi W3C way over my head but glad you are trying different things. I have also tried different browsers and computers. I do think it is a WordPress problem, perhaps they are updating their site or making changes and something has gone wrong. Lets hope it is a temporary problem.

Hi Yipeeeeee, it seems to be working now.

    Yep, all looking good again.
Clearly not due to our kit, but some server or network problem.

Timethief suggested on a related post that we set all connections to go via https – presumably because this prevents caching. See http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

Not sure this would have been relevant to the problem in this instance, but good advice in general, so I’m posting this here as well.
