I would LOVE to move my blog from blogspot.com to here, but read that the photos in my blog are not transferable. True?? I would have to upload all my photos again to my new blog here? that would be a royal pain in the butt because I have LOTS of photos!

I’m actually been wondering about this because I’ve been seeing blogger images lately within wp.com posts. Been wondering if they’ve changed their mind or what.

hmmm….sorry, but is this a download? I’m confused. so photos/images CAN be transferred en mass if I move my blog from blogger to WP??
I sure would hate to try to move it over here and then have everything get messed up? how about all my widgets, etc….?

Widgets do NOT transfer, and some of the ones allowed at Blogger won’t work here at all because javascript and embeds get stripped out.

If you are talking about the batch import of images from a Blogger blog to a wordpress.com blog then up to now Blogger has not allowed hotlinking. That meant that the images had to be uploaded one at a time. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/09/import-from-blogger-typepad-mt-lj/

I imported my Blogger Beta (which I made the mistake of changing to) and all of my photos were imported.
When I click on an archive month the posts are listed in summary, but if I click on the title of a particular post it opens with all photos.

now Blogger has not allowed hotlinking
I’ve seen cases where hotlinking has been allowed recently. I’ve been trying to figure out what’s been going on. It’s been rather strange…
