  Hello, I am wanting to use a name for my new blog on wordpress, I am going to buy the domain so it will be a .com … I found that no one has the .com to my name but there is the same name with blogspot.com

  does this mean I have to find a new name?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  I’m not sure I understand.

  Using a fictitious example:

  If someone registered the domain mygroovysite.com and it’s pointing to a site hosted on blogspot.com, that means no one else can use that domain for any other site.

  If they are using the address mygroovysite.blogspot.com or something similar, and don’t own mygroovysite.com, and no one else owns mygroovysite.com, then you can register it to use on your WordPress.com site.

  You could also register mygroovysite.wordpress.com if, again, no one else has beaten you to it.
