blot hits and password not working properly on some blogs
-
Since wordpress had changed the counting of the hits, I see lots of confusing counts on my blogs, some of which I find annoying.
I have several blogs. A few of them are private and whilst one does not count my own visits (which I prefer) and the count stays the same for month, 2 others don’t count my visits too, but when I check much later again, I found those blogs have been visited even they are pass-word-protected and nobody has the password from me.
Also one of my password protected blog ask ME for the password to access it, but the other one I can access without password.
So either those counters and password-protections don’t work properly or the change in the system is not working properly.
Or do I overlook something?…smileThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi and thanks. Do you mean that they count even if they can not access the blog or page? That would explain it! smile

Please see here for what Staff said:
Private blogs, which can be viewed only by users chosen by the administrator, now track the page views of all of their users. Traditionally we have omitted the views attributed to a blog’s own users because stats were meant to reflect the activity of the general public. However, this meant that private blogs had no useful stats reports. This change will be especially useful for private blogs that have many users.
