Blue host domain problems
-
Hi there, I’m trying to follow your easy guide and have registered a domain name with Bluehost as suggested but when I try and login, all I get is a blank white page. Then when I come to creating a blog page with you it starts talking about transferring or mapping the domain. Not sure what to do and don’t want to incur extra costs.

Hi there!
Not sure which guide you were following but to clear up any further confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.
We, WordPress.com are a cloud-based platform where we manage WordPress sites whereas WordPress.org is a stand-alone software that you can download and self-host with any other hosting.
You can find more details about WordPress.com and WordPress.org on this support page:
If you have registered a domain name with Bluehost, it means that you have an address for your site. To be able to use this address, you also need hosting. On WordPress.com we host all sites created here and we offer various plans. You can read more about those here:
https://wordpress.com/pricing/
After you’ve purchased a plan, you’ll be able to map the domain to your site.
If you’ve purchased a hosting plan with Bluehost, that means that your site is on WordPress.org and you’ll find more information and help here: https://wordpress.org/support/
I hope that helps :)
