Bluehost domain and font size
-
Two big issues that I thought would be simple:
1) I cannot figure out how to use my own domain name (andonthatnotevt.com) that I bought and is hosted through Bluehost with my new site.
2) I picked a theme, but can I really not change the font and size within the theme? So that it fits within the screen (especially if it’s a long post title)?
Am blown away by the difficulty this has posed in 2015.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I feel your pain! I have done the same thing today and am also blown away by the difficulty I am having. My new theme looks terrible and doesn’t appear to have the options to do any of the customising that the theme was supposed to. I will be hoping this thread gets some helpful answers!

Hi there.
1) I cannot figure out how to use my own domain name (andonthatnotevt.com) that I bought and is hosted through Bluehost with my new site.
First, your domain is registered through Bluehost, but not hosted. Hosting refers to who provides server space for your website to be online. All WordPress.com blogs are hosted by WordPress.com, no matter where you bought your domain. If you set up a hosting account with Bluehost, you can cancel that, as you don’t need it. You only need the domain registration. (Make sure you don’t cancel that by mistake.)
To connect your domain to your WordPress.com site you need to buy the domain mapping upgrade. Instructions to do that can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
2) I picked a theme, but can I really not change the font and size within the theme? So that it fits within the screen (especially if it’s a long post title)?
To change aspects of a theme such as font size you need to edit the theme’s CSS, and that requires the Custom Design upgrade. You can only get that upgrade as part of the Premium or Business upgrade bundles (which also include the domain mapping upgrade): http://store.wordpress.com/plans/
For help with editing the CSS, please post in the CSS forum here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization#postform
And you can see these support docs for information on how the Custom Design upgrade works: http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions

See above. The ability to edit themes beyond basic background, header and widget customizations, is a paid upgrade. -
My new theme looks terrible and doesn’t appear to have the options to do any of the customising that the theme was supposed to.
If you have a problem with free features of a specific theme, please start a new thread in the themes forum, include the theme name in your thread title, and explain exactly what you have trouble with. One of the volunteers of themes staff will help you further there: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/themes#postform

Thanks Kokkieh. I purchased a theme through Mojo marketplace. I paid for the mapping and managed to get the domain working however once i exported my blog to my own domain, the choice of wordpress themes (paid or free) seemed to greatly reduce.
Sorry for hijacking shainleyvt.

@kimlbayne
Do you have a WordPress.com or a WordPress.org site? We can’t use themes bought elsewhere on WordPress.com. The only themes that will work here are the ones listed here: https://wordpress.com/themes/If you’re working with a self-hosted site, you need to post in the WordPress.org forum: http://wordpress.org/support/
