bought a domain and want to host on bluehost without re-directing…

Where did you buy the domain? Here at WordPress.com? If you bought the domain at BlueHost you can set up a site with the WordPress.org software there.

Thanks for your answer. I purchased the domain from bluehost but when I went to link up a wordpress site through bluehost there was an error saying there was already a site with that name. DUH! It’s a old blog of mine.
I was offered the option of re-directing or buying something from WordPress.
I was going to simply delete my old blog, but then got a caution message that the band would NEVER again be available. Hope I’m making sense!

I’m afraid not. I thought if you have your chosen address at BlueHost then you don’t need to link anything anywhere. If you have an old WordPress.com site you could export the content to the new BlueHost site that would be using the WordPress.org software. I’ll add the modlook tag to ask a WordPress.com staff member to advise you (if you can reveal the addresses of the site(s) in question).
