Blurry images in blog posts

I’m not sure why but the images in my posts are blurry but the images in my galleries are fine. I had this issue before and disabled enable site accelerator and everything was fine but it seems the problem is back? I could really use help because my images are a big part of my posts and it’s extremely unprofessional looking.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

I’m sorry to hear about your images being blurry again. You mentioned disabling site accelerator, but have you gone through the other steps in this guide?

Images are a crucial part of your content that make it more engaging for your readers. It’s important to have images that are crisp and clear on your site without being too heavy, which is detrimental to a site’s loading speed and performance. This guide covers some of the most common reasons why images may appear blurry on your site, and how you can resolve the issue. Image Sizes and Qua

Can you send a couple of examples of ones that you know are blurry? I took a look around your site but couldn’t see any blurred ones, but you’ll know better than us.

I do see you have a page optimize plugin too, it might be worth checking to see if that’s causing any issues by temporarily disabling it.

It’s every image in my posts. They are sharp when I upload them but blurry when i view them in a post. The images in my galleries are fine. I just disabled the optimize plug in and saw no difference. If you look at this page https://rockintheshot.com/shinedown-rocks-the-bok-in-tulsa/ the images are blurry but in the sidebar that displays my instagram feed the images there are sharp. I had this issue before but it seemed to be resolved after disabling the site accelerator but now it’s back and the site accelerator is still off.

  • Hey there!

It looks like this maybe down to the lazy loading feature that can be deactivated here: https://rockintheshot.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=jetpack#/performance under the Performance and Speed panel.

Whilst this can help with site speeds, sometimes, it has been know to have this impact on some images that are loaded into WordPress.com.

Are you able to deactivate this, clear the browser cache (https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache) and then see if you’re experiencing this behaviour.

    Many thanks!
