Blurry photos

  I am creating a portfolio site in WordPress using Fukasawa theme. My photos are blurry! These are the same photos I have on my site built in Dreamweaver. I want to delete that site because it is old. Why won’t those exact same photos work on this WordPress site? Help! Is it the theme or just WordPress in general? And why is it so hard to find out how to do this?
