Boardwalk Theme: Feature Image on Mobile is low quality

    The Boardwalk Theme is perfect.
    Except for one thing: the Feature Image on my front page on mobile is in low quality. On the desktop version it’s perfect, but when I see it on my iPhone it’s really bad.

    I have the Personal plan, so I can’t edit the code or install anything…
    Can this be fixed?

  • Hi there,

    Are you referring to the photo, that I assume is of you? I also have an iPhone, and I looked at your site (rubenrosbach.com) both on my desktop and iPhone, and the picture quality is great on both.

    I have an iPhone6s. What version of the iPhone are you using?

    Oh, that’s because I’m not using the theme. Because the quality was so bad, I changed to a different one :-)

  • Thanks for clarifying. I would have seen that myself, had I looked closer at the theme you are currently using :) Sorry about that.

    @rrosbach,

    The Quick Specs section of the Boardwalk theme guide says (dimensions in pixels):

    Featured Images are 2000 wide by 1500 high.

    The given dimensions can effectively be taken as the minimum recommended width and height for a file image used to create a featured image with the Boardwalk theme applied.

    The file image used for the featured image on the front page of https://rubenrosbach.com/ has dimensions 2048 X 1197 (cropped to 2000 X 1197). Using an image of smaller than the recommended height might have led to the low quality featured image that you describe.

    The recommended aspect ratio, 2000 X 1500 (4:3), might be a significant factor as well.
