boardwalk – use for horizontal scrolling?
-
Hi all,
I am renewing my professional website and am looking for horizontal scrolling main page, to use with 3 categories (not posts); boardwalk looks good, but is it possible to use the main page for fixed content (categories, redirecting to many posts) instead of single posts aligning endlessly?
thanks!

Hello there!
Thank you for reaching out.
The Boardwalk theme is primarily designed to display posts in a horizontal scrolling format. However, by default, it’s not set up to showcase categories in that same horizontal layout.
If you want to use categories on your homepage and have them link to posts, one workaround could be to create a custom menu. Here’s how you can do that:
- Create a Custom Menu:
- Head over to Appearance > Menus in your WordPress dashboard.
- Add your categories as menu items.
- You can then display the menu in a custom location, like a widget or at the top of the page.
- Using the Homepage:
- Set your homepage to a custom page with category links or menu items that lead to your posts.
Unfortunately, achieving a fully horizontal scrolling layout for categories would require custom development or a theme that more natively supports that feature. You might want to explore other themes that provide more flexibility with how categories are displayed, or you could look into custom code if you’re comfortable with that.
Feel free to ask if you’d like more guidance on customizing your site or choosing an alternative theme!
