Body image is displayed behind header and footer
-
My header and footer images have rounded corners with transparency on the sides. The body image (or “page background”) is showing up in the corners because it is showing through the transparency. Is there a way to make the body image not show up at the very top and bottom so that the header and footer look rounded?

Also, when I navigate to a post page, the body image I’m using (with transparent sides) goes away and it defaults to the theme’s body image (with gray sides). How do I manipulate the body image for the post pages?

Thanks!!!

I’m afraid I know very, very little CSS, but the one thing I do know is that people who know more than me caution against using it on Kubrick. Can you find a similar-functioning theme and adapt that instead? Kubrick, because it is so old, has some peculiarities that newer themes don’t have and even if this is not the source of your current problem, switching will save you headaches in the long run.

It strikes me that the easiest way to do this would be to remove the transparency in the corners of your header and footer images and replace it with the colour you want. In other words do the rounding in the image, not in the CSS.

On the Kubrick issue, there is a version of Kubrick for Sandbox which works well with the custom CSS. I don’t know how different it is from the original, but it might be another option.

rosclarke: The rounding is in the image, but because the actual corners of the image are transparent, the body image is showing up. I would make the corners the same color as the default background color, which is gray, but I’m using a picture instead.
Thanks for the “Kubrick for Sandbox” link. I’ll try that as a last resort. I’ve already made so many little tweaks to my existing CSS that I wouldn’t want to do it all over again unless I had no more options.
