Bogus Blog Subscribers?

Hello!
I was wondering if it’s possible to have blog subscribers who aren’t genuine, in a similar way to how spam comments are not actually sincere thoughts written by people. I’m aware that you don’t have to be a WordPress.com member to subscribe, only the owner of an email address, and most of my subscribers are recognisable to me or obviously interested readers. But in ambiguous cases, if they’re a program, I might like to remove them from the list. Does anyone know if this is possible or have any experience of it?

well the Akismet will stop some if not all bogus posts (as i understand)
and it stops spam hitting your pages :)but you might be able to notice on your own about bogus posts, for example
suddenly 5/6 comments on your blog from the same user / different users at the exact same time :)Hope that helps

I dont think you could have bogus subscribers, as they need to click on a link back in their email boxes to activate their subscription, and my understanding is that it works that way exactly to prevent that (i.e. spammers sending lots of email addresses, or, more likely, yourself sending lots of fake email addresses to bring the number of your subscribers artificially high ;) ).
But I could be wrong… -

Here at wordpress.com we do not post signature links to our blogs at the end of our comments because they are redundant when the blog linked to our username is already linked to the same blog in the signature link. Here at wordpress.COM we can only promote free hosted wordpress.COM blogs.BTW here’s the report on your broken blog
