Bogus WordPress Plugin activates with every new blog post

Hi – I’m having an issue with a plugin called “WordPress Editor”. A few months ago, that plugin was the reason all my blog posts were hijacked and traffic diverted to a Russian SPAM site to win an iPhone. I have deactivated and deleted it, but it keeps coming back. I changed my password, but it still came back this week when I published a new blog post.

Last round, before deleting, said it was version 9.0.3, by WordPress. I can show you a screenshot if you need.

How do I get this plugin to stop activating and hijacking my blog traffic?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It looks like your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted at Siteground.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.

You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

https://wordpress.org/support/ is a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

You can also reach out to your host for help with this. Since they’re hosting your site’s files, they also have access to those files and are the best ones to help you with this problem. It sounds like your site was hacked and you should work with your host to find and fix the issue here.

    Best of luck!
