First, are you sure you are posting in the right forum? This is the forum for hosted WordPress.com blogs. If you are talking about integrating a blog powered by WordPress, you may mean the self-hosted version.
If you’re not sure about the difference between the two, you can start by reading the two stickies at the top of this forum
WordPress.COM or WordPress.ORG? The difference8 Things To Know Before Posting in WordPress.Com Forums
Book recommendation for Newbies? Lisa Sabin-Wilson’s WordPress for Dummies 2nd edition. 85% self-hosted WordPress, 15% WordPress.com

Thanx Jennifer and Raincoaster..See I told you I’m new…LOL..will read the suggested links..
I have a few sites at http://www.wpdirect.com and just want to learn a LOT more about WP both for that situation and to both have WP on my LE site..and do other WP blogs on related subjects…so I guess I’m looking for an overview of each situation and how to make the best of each of them…does that make sense???
Cheers,

I wouldn’t be looking for a book. I would focus on learning what’s in the wordpress.com support documentation. I would work through each entry using a test blog until I was adept at using wordpress.com software. http://en.support.wordpress.com/

I’m not putting down books and manuals I simply haven’t found that they are as useful as support documentation and tutorials are. BTW I’m a blogging tips blogger and you will find many “how to” posts by clicking my username and arriving on my blog.

Thanx..just had a look..I’m going to spend some time on your blog..lots there I see…yummy…LOL!

Agree with timethief. The reason why a book isn’t as good as the Support docs and other online sources of information is that in wp.com things change (usually improve) all the time: a tutorial book will be already outdated the moment it reaches the shelves.

Thanx, timethief…looking forward to learning this well…
Right, Panaghiotisadam Makes sense…they can’t publish in print fast enough..so off to the support docs with moi..

The only difficulty you may have when using the search box in support documentation is the use of “jargon”. I have found that the use of the synonyms usually provides a breakthrough, but not in all cases, so feel free to post to the forum if you find your repeated searches for specific terms are not returning expected results.
