Book Publishing and Traffic to Blog

  Hi Everyone,

  I have been on WordPress for 3 1/2 years now and have posted approximately 560 articles. I’ve never been too sure how to get ‘Freshly Pressed’.
  I started my blog as a way of practicing to become a better wordsmith. I’ve now just published my first book which is a memoir.

  Any tips on creating traffic for this?

  I’ve posted it on my blog and if you click on the link it will take you to the Amazon.com website.

  I’m excited about this and want to learn as much as possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  The best first step is to earn a following with your blog. You’ve already got that started! The folks who are already reading your writing are the ones most likely to purchase your book to read more of it.

  A couple more steps I’d recommend:

  • Feature your book somewhere in your sidebar widget area. This is a prominent idea for blog, so make sure it’s always visible. Either link to the post you’ve created, or directly to Amazon for purchase.
  • Schedule some posts in the near future where you have snippets from the book, and in those posts once again link to your Amazon listing. People normally need to hear about something more than once before they’re willing to but it.
  • Buddy up with another blogger and have them review your book or interview you about it. This will create more links to your site, and attract a new audience
