Book recommendations

In want to start making up a list of books which are relevant to my site so I may suggest them to the visitors. I’d like to have something right on the first post to alert them to this list. How may I go about this? Thanks.

I wonder why that address keeps coming up? It was deleted over a year ago. This is the correct address: http://mertonocso.wordpress.com/ When I was asking the question above, the correct address was being used on the form.
How can I get this old address completely deleted? Thanks.

I would put the books list on a Page and then put a link to that Page at the top of your Sidebar using a text Widget. I have done this on my site and it works well.

Thanks. I was able to remove the old address. As for adding a text Widget. Could you explain exactly how I do this. I’m kind of dense in cyber space.

Searching on “Text Widget” yields this as the top result: http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/text-widget/
If you are not familiar with making a link in the widget then make the link in your Page or Post editor (use a scratch Page or Post) and copy the relevant html code into the Text Widget. (Make the link while in the visual editor then switch to the html view and copy the code).
