books. widget or manually updated?

Maybe a stupid question, But is there any way I can have a “reading now”-thingie (pref. w. picture) without updating manually, linking to photos etc?
(Ideally, I’d like to have one showing the current book with photo, and the previous with just titles as links).
I know how to do this manually, but would like to find another solution. -
The only other way I can think to do this would be with an RSS feed. Goodreads or Librarything or somesuch? I do recall that there was another wp.com user who was having trouble with images being stripped out of their RSS widget.

People have asked for LibraryThing to be approved, so you can add your voice. The more, the more likely.

boblets, I use Library Thing and when it was on my .com blog I had a Library Thing badge in my sidebar and people could click it and be taken my collection. You could use the image of a book instead of a badge.

Interesting – but the random books aren’t actually random? I mean, they don’t change on refresh.. (pardon my ignorace)
I could probably write a script myself, but suspect that is not allowed. I’ll look into it when the weather is not so good as it is now, and will report back. -
I tried the refresh early on and sometimes they changed and sometimes they didn’t. It might be because I only have a couple dozen books in my library. Or it might be something else altogether.
Not very helpful, I know. :(
