  I have a website address, abcdef.wordpress.com. If I apply to have a new address, abc.def.com through wordpress, Users can find both of them?

  Yes. If you upgrade your original site to a paid plan to get the new custom domain address then anyone typing/clicking on a link to the original address would be diverted to the new one.
