Bought a domain from WordPress 3 days ago and the spamming has already started

When I try and get support, all options I click return me to the same page (https://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/). I am resorting to the forums because there is no way to contact WordPress.

I didn’t realise that WordPress domains are managed by the aptly named WildWestDomains.com. I found this out today when they send me a spam text trying to sell me SEO. Then the phone calls started. Anyone with anything domain related is calling me to try and sell me it. It is a nightmare, that conveniently started one day after the 2 day period of being able to get a refund.

So, I am taking this up with Paypal.

But WordPress.com, if you are selling domains, you should know that your provider has a history of spamming.

    Very disappointed.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I tagged this thread for a Staff follow-up so you can let them know exactly what you want to do about the domain. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

Thank you, Timethief. I’m not bothered about keeping the domain, so I am happy to give it up and hopefully be off the spamming lists!

I see you’ve disputed this charge rather than requesting a refund. I’m not able to process a refund while the charge is being disputed. If you’d like to cancel the dispute I can get you a refund more quickly.

As for the spam and phone calls, are you sure those were coming from Wild West Domains? If so, please let me know so we can follow up.

It seems more likely that you were targeted by run-of-the-mill spammers. You purchased your domain without privacy and there are some unscrupulous people who scrape public whois info for the exact purposes you experienced.

    Hi Liz

    Thanks for your reply.

That may well be the case, but I’ve never had problems with the half dozen domains I’ve purchased previously, and I just want to be rid of it.

Can I be assured that you will do that and refund me like this never happened?

If so, I’m happy to cancel the dispute.

    Many thanks.

If so, I’m happy to cancel the dispute.

I’m happy to cancel the domain and give you a full refund if you cancel the dispute.

    Hello, Liz

I have closed the dispute with Paypal.

Many thanks for your attention to this.

This is all taken care of. I’ve processed your refund. It can take up to a week for the funds to show back up in your account, but it’s usually sooner than that.

I get spam SEO junk for one of my domains on a regular basis – I think that is agains ICANN (internet) standards, but not sure how to lodge a complaint

Thank you, Liz – I’ve had notification from Paypal that they are processing the payment. I haven’t had any spam calls or texts in the last couple of days, so fingers crossed that isn’t just a coincidence.

It’s nice when customer service works – much appreciated.
