Bought a domain from wordpress but the url is still showing .wordpress.com

    I paid to select a domain which was allchimera.com but it is still showing it as .wordpress.com, what should I do to remove it?

    That is expected behaviour. To set a custom domain as a primary address you need to upgrade your free site to a paid plan. Incidentally with an annual paid plan you could have registered your domain for free for the first year.

    To be able to set your domain as your site’s primary address, you need to upgrade to one of our plans. I recommend our Premium or Personal plan if you’re just starting out. If you need more features in the future, you can upgrade to a higher plan at any time.

    Both the Premium and the Personal plans have many added features, like the ability to remove ads, access premium support, and increase your site’s storage space.

    Can I be refunded for this somehow, so I can upgrade to a plan and not have to pay for both separately, since the domain is free the first year?

    Hey there,

    No problem – we can absolutely do that.

    The plan would need to be purchased first, and then we can refund and attached the domain to the plan as so to make use of that perk.
