Bought a domain – how do I link it to old URL?
-
Hello,
I recently purchased the domain: lovelyandcozyblog.ca.
Since then, I have been trying to replace this with my current WordPress URL (https://momentsbylor.wordpress.com/) but have not been able to do so. I’ve been trying to follow some of the instructions provided, but have not been successful.I recently tried to follow the instructions from this link: https://wordpress.com/support/changing-site-address/
But when I get to step 3, it says “No sites found” (as per the screenshot below):

How come https://momentsbylor.wordpress.com/ isn’t showing up here to link up? What should the next steps be from here?
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello again!
Happy to help with this issue also!
How come https://momentsbylor.wordpress.com/ isn’t showing up here to link up? What should the next steps be from here?
In order to set lovelyandcozyblog.ca as the primary custom domain, the site would need to be on a paid plan, at a minimum the personal plan.
The domain is newly registered, which means that once this plan is purchased, we could refund you for the domain for the first year, as this would otherwise be free for the first year of registration with the plan.
What plans do you have for the site for the long term? I can perhaps offer some advice on how to fulfil them with the right plan.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hello, thanks again!
Things have changed since I last purchased a domain a few years ago! I wasn’t interested in purchasing a plan – just wanted to purchase the domain to replace my current URL, but I guess that’s not possible. Oh well.
Thank you anyway!
