bought a domain on wordpress.com on accident was supposed to buy it somewhere else for wordpress.org

  Please help retrieve the domain . Just cancelled a few minutes ago

  Hi there,
  If you cancel the domain quickly after the purchase, it should be released completely after 5 days. After this period, you should be able to register it with another host.

  There is also an option to contact WordPress.com to restore the domain to your WordPress.com account. In that case, your domain will be restored immediately and it can be pointed to your new host (you would be able to use it at the new site). After 60 days from registration, you would be able to transfer the domain to your new host.
