Bought Custom CSS – then Custom Header disappeared?

    Hey all, first WordPress timer here, loving it so far.

    Was using a default theme (Benevolence) – then wanted to make some tweaks here and there, so bought and paid for Customizable CSS, and entered my changes, saved and Poof! went my Custom Header Image.

    I re-uploaded, it uploads, says changes went through, but nothing shows up except a large black box where my pretty little thang used to be making me very, very sad. I like being happy. Not sad. Being sad makes kittens weep. Please help the crying kitties!

    Here is my wordpress blog:

    I thought I might have delteeted an important part of the css, but alas I can see no such error. Perhaps one of you smart chaps can help me locate my oversight and make the kittens purr

    Did some digging, found this

    After the upgrade you can’t use the Custom Header Uploader at all.

    You have to crop the image to fit exactly, upload it, then insert the URL of the uploaded image in the proper spot in your CSS.

    So. I guess, my next question, hope it’s not too much to ask, perhaps there’s a FAQ page about it, where do I “put back” my custom header image (it’s cropped and ready to go, assuming I can host it with my other file(s) I use on my wordpress blog).

    The kittens! They weep!

    Well. The kittens are all purring!

    I did some guessing (that’s how I attempt to do css) – and found something called the masthead, thought that might be the header – went to the Custom Header Upload screen, and ripped the url of the image and put it in the css and VIOLA! it works..

    OLD

    #masthead {
    position: relative;
    top: 0px;
    background: url(‘images/masthead.jpg’);
    width: 700px;
    height: 225px;
    margin: 0px;
    margin-top: 0px;
    }

    NEW

    #masthead {
    position: relative;
    top: 0px;
    background: url(‘http://nicholasforneris.files.wordpress.com/2008/08/headerversion101.jpg’);
    width: 700px;
    height: 225px;
    margin: 0px;
    margin-top: 0px;
    }

    So… Thanks! WordPress rocks! Even a fool like me can make it work :)

    I must be totally lucky. I bought the CSS upgrade and my custom image header uploader works great. I created a 730 x 180 image, uploaded it…no problem.

    I hid the default header text and the link back to the site home page/url continues to work just fine.

    I’m using the Redoable Lite theme.

    Nicholas – glad you figured it out. Yes, that is exactly what you have to do. (Great looking header, BTW)

    Fairport – not sure how you could use the header uploader. Must be something in that theme because it hasn’t worked for anybody else around here.
