Bought domain, but how do I install custom theme?

    Hi all, I’m a very new beginner in website building so please excuse me if I seem lost. My original site was katiethanhle.Wordpress.com. I bought the domain name and now its katiethanhle.com for the next year. Will I need to also purchase a hosting service for my site, especially if I want to install a theme?

    I bought a theme I liked on thereforest.net. I know WordPress doesn’t allow custom themes, so any suggestions on what I should do next? I’ve read that an ftp software will do this, but it won’t host my site? I tried cyberduck but it says it can’t find the server? Is this because my website is not hosted?

    Once I get my site up with the theme, would I continue to use WordPress to edit and make changes my site? Or will the hosting service I use cover that?

    I’d appreciate any help.

    Yes.

    For the sake of clarity: you will be using WordPress.ORG on the hosting service you will choose. You will no longer use WordPress.COM’s dashboard.

    If you are a novice, be very cautious about choosing WP.org over WP.com, especially if it’s just to be able to install a theme. Carefully read the latter link I gave you, because once you move to WP.org, you’re completely on your own.
