Bought domain from wordpress.com; someone else bought it too

    Hi,
I purchased thetruthaboutaging.com from you May 18, 2014 and itauto-renewed. I never did anything with the blog; I didn’t even pick a template, which was all fine because I’ve been planning the site for a year.

I was ready to launch and populate the site with content and photos only to discover someone has the domain, and thus my site. I immediately thought it was a hacker but I was able to contact the “new owner” through LinkedIn and “she” *might* be legit, as her IP “whois” is registered to her in one place https://www.whois.net/default.aspx r but not another so I am truly confused (Belinda Bell, supersexyskin.com, an MLM-type online scheme.

She has more than one site, hawking a few weight loss, anti-aging products and services. She could be a spam-type robot.

The GoDaddy WhoIs indicates (as “she” claims) that she purchased the domain in June 2014, a month after I did.

You can see from your records, I am a wordpress.com premium user, and you registered it on my behalf.

Please let me know how I rectify this situation. I am in conversation with this Belinda Benn, and we are supposed to skype at 5:30. But I am sure she won’t show up.

    Thank you,
    Cindy Capitani

Flagged for the staff to help

It looks like you might have purchased domain mapping but not the domain registration –

I registered the domain with wordpress right out of the gate. I didn’t own it before I met WordPress. I jumped for their package because remapping was over my head! Plus it was so tidy and easy. Every time I logged in, it was always said truthaboutaging.com without the wordpress tucked in. I just never decided on a template and got it going.

I see you’ve submitted a private ticket about this matter as well, so I’m closing this public thread.
