Bought ‘JustHost’ for affiliate capability, need switch help
-
I’m diving in with all fours on this one & hope I haven’t gone too wild… I took the advice of the supt page to buy hosting from a partner site and went with JustHost for now and got my domain, getdclu.com. My WP Blog is getdclu.wordpress.com.
I need to changeover the name servers and whatever else, but have no idea how to do it. The intro ltr wasn’t very descriptive and they charge to do it for you. Is this s/t fairly simple I can do myself with a few instructions from the vast knowlge base here? I haven’t left yet, you know. And certainly not in spirit! lol
NS1: ns1.pipedns.com
NS2: ns2.pipedns.com
NS3: ns3.pipedns.comI hope I’ve done the right thing… Thanks! ~~Lisa (-;

Did you follow the instructions here?

@getdclu, mapping a domain here will not exclude you from the terms of service and restrictions here at wordpress.COM. If you want to do affiliate stuff and advertising, what you will have to do is to install the wordpress software from wordpress.ORG onto your hosting account at justhost and then export your blog from here and import it into the new blog at justhost.

I completed the instructions they had at JustHost and created a new domain blog http://getdclu.com. I now want to transfer my existing WP blog over to that new site, but how do I do this. Is this the exporting you’re talking about? Would you be so kind to explain how to do this please? Is there a way to have it in a similar type theme (3 columns, etc to Andreas 4)?
