Bought mapped domain from wordpress.com but realized I need wordpress.ORG

  I joined wordpress.com thinking it was a wordpress.org hosting site. I also purchased a mapped domain name from wordpress.com.
  I was wondering if i downloaded the software from .org (hosting site) would I still need the mapped domain name??? or have I lost my money for that year???

  You can safely move to a WordPress.org self-install and use your domain name there. You’d just need to cancel the mapping and request a refund, which we can do right now.
