Bought subscription yesterday and canceled today and now domain is with automatt

I need some help. I purchased a subscription yesterday and found out today it was not needed. My husband canceled it for me and along with it the domain. How do I go about getting the domain back? It is with automattic now. I am a complete newbie here so sandy info is appreciated.

Hi there,
Just to clarify, do you still want the domain, jenniferwheelerfitness.com? And do you want to use it here on WordPress.com, or somewhere else?
If you want to use it here on WordPress.com I can still restore it, but as your original payment was refunded you’ll first need to buy a new plan from My Site ->Plans. You can use the cheaper Personal plan if you don’t need all the features in Premium.
If you want to use the domain somewhere else, it should be released again early next week, at which point you’ll be able to register it with a different provider. There’s always a slight risk that someone else might buy the domain once it’s released, but it’s very unlikely that someone would have a brand new domain on back-order somewhere.

Hi, Thankyou for replying. I want to use the host I currently have and will be using WordPress with it. The lady helping me said I don’t need the paid versions so I am assuming I just use the free version? It was messing us up not allowing her to download the seo plugins unless I bought the paid business version. I’m currently with web hosting hub. So does this mean I need to wait?

If you want to use the domain somewhere else and you’re fine to wait a few days that would be simplest, yes. Then you can register the domain directly with the host where you’ll be using it. We have no way to manually release the domain earlier, but it will be automatically released 5 days after registration because you cancelled on the same day that you bought it.
If you’d prefer to restore it here immediately and point it to the other host I’m happy to help you do that, though.
I do want to point out that you don’t need SEO plugins on WordPress.com. All WordPress.com sites, even free ones, come already configured for SEO, and WordPress.com sites have some of the best SEO on the web.

WordPress.com is also generally easier to use than the self-hosted version as we take care of all the technical maintenance for you, so you can only focus on your content. But it’s completely up to you what you prefer :)

As your original payment was refunded I’ve sent you a payment link via email to pay for the domain’s registration again. I’ll be notified once we receive your payment, and then I can reactivate the domain for you.
To point it to the other host we will need either their Name Servers, or their IP address. You should be able to find that information in your hosting control panel for your site.
Once your domain is reactivated you can then add that info to your domain as explained at the following links, or you can reply here with that information and I can add it to the domain for you:

I’ve restored your domain to your account and it is active again. You can follow the instructions I gave above to point it to a different provider.
