Bought the premium upgrade to customize but can't

I have not yet taken the steps to transfer my existing domain name

As you already have a domain and you want to use it with your WordPress.com site, follow the instructions for mapping an existing domain to your WordPress.com blog. http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/

After you make the domain mapping purchase here > Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades and do the set up it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

My problem with being patient is the time frame allowed to cancel (30 hours is it?) between four hours ago when I purchased the Premium bundle and just when I will be determine if WordPress is functional. My problem is not with CSS. I’m not a novice to HTML and such. I can’t even get to that point. When I attempt to customize the page it throws up a blank page (loads for a split second and disappears).

    Hi there,

I see your $99 WordPress.com Premium Upgrade has been successfully applied to your blog at cfnewswire.wordpress.com.

I just wanted to confirm that you’re having issues when trying to customize your theme from https://cfnewswire.wordpress.com/wp-admin/customize.php

It looks like http://www.chrysolinnpress.net/ is not mapped to a WordPress.com site.

My apologies for not addressing this sooner! I have just tested with IE10, and I was unable to get the Customize feature to load. I see a blank white screen on the left where the live preview should be and the gray bar or blue menu on the right. The problem happens regardless of whether the Custom Design upgrade is added or not. When I first load any live preview in EI10 or if I make a change in the menus on the left, I see the site flash in on the left for about a second and then it disappears. Is that also what you see?

If it is, I’m so sorry that this is causing a poor introduction to WordPress.com, and I will work with you to test and try to verify the bug and report it so it can get fixed.

Note that I used http://www.browserstack.com/ for my initial tests, and I’m not sure how reliable it is for testing script-heavy tools like the Customize feature in WordPress. I will try to get a hold of a better way to test.

I will post back here as soon as I have any new updates. In the mean time, if anyone else has IE10 and can confirm whether live previews work for them at Appearance → Themes, that would be helpful to know!

Apologies for not posting back sooner. I did do some additional testing in IE10 using both Windows 7 and Windows 8, and I was unable to repeat the problem again. I think I assumed before that IE10 was broken when it was really an issue with the blog I was using (probably because of a different bug test).

So, my conclusion so far is that the customizer should have always been working in IE10 and I’ve re-tested again and found that’s the case. I also haven’t seen any other similar reports like this about IE10 specifically.

I’m not sure what might have been the problem in cfnewswire’s case. If the customizer isn’t loading for someone else reading this thread, please start a new help ticket and include as much detail as possible and I will help test the issue.
