There is no FTP access to free hosted wordpress.com blogs and we cannot install individual plugins into free hosted wordpress.com blogs. May I suggest that you become familiar with use of the support documentation and the searchbox there so you don’t have to wait for answers?

You just upload your video files the way you’d upload an image. Use the Media Uploader button above the Write Post box.

I bought videopress and i have a wordpress.com blog site. Are you saying i should cancel it and refund or get a wordpress.org site?
Why would they let me buy it if I cant use it?
Why would they make it so complicated>
-
If you have the videopress upgrade then you can upload videos here and display them in your pages and posts.
Audio is a separate issue, but you can upload audio files to a file sharing site such as fileden or box.net and then use the audio player here to play them on your blog here.
-
Uploading the audio files to a separate sharing service means you do not have to buy another upgrade.
-
That solves the audio problem, thank you.
But I cannot embed video from a flash player with wordpress.com and the videopress upgrade? Is that correct?
I have a podcast and have it hosted through libsyn.com ; I want to embed the flash player to play my episodes. That is my goal.
Can it be done or do I need to get a wordpress.org account?
-
Did you buy the videopress upgrade here? If so, then you follow the instructions in the videopress support document I referenced above. We cannot use plugins here, and a plugin is not required to use videopress here.
-
I did buy the videopress upgrade here. i can’t upload from my computer. It is a flash player and I need to embed it. Is that possible?
-
Yes, but it does NOT require the videopress upgrade. Cancel it.
Then use the Gigya shortcode as explained at http://wpbtips.wordpress.com which enables the embed of embeddable Flash video.

<script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://player.wizzard.tv/player/o/j/x/130361811947/config/k-c360d33ef1e91e14/uuid/root/height/244/width/325″></script>
That is my embed code, I don’t pretend to be very good with this stuff and i cannot get it to work.
Can anyone put the correct code around it so it will play?
Thanks in advance
-
That’s not flash.
That is javascript.
And it cannot be put on a WordPress.com blog. It’ll be stripped out for security reasons.
-
<object height=”244″ width=”325″><param name=”allowScriptAccess” value=”always”/><param name=”allowFullScreen” value=”true”/><param name=”movie” value=”http://player.wizzard.tv/player/o/i/x/130361988934/config/k-c360d33ef1e91e14/uuid/root”/><embed src=”http://player.wizzard.tv/player/o/i/x/130361988934/config/k-c360d33ef1e91e14/uuid/root” name=”movie” menu=”false” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” AllowScriptAccess=”always” AllowFullScreen=”true” width=”325″ height=”244″/></object>
This is the flash, i think, sorry about that
-
Thank you. Like I said, you have to go to that site and look up the Gigya Shortcode. It’s meticulous but not that difficult to translate the code.
-
I appreciate it, Raincoaster. Thank you so much for your help. I’ll give looking for the gigya shortcode another go.
Again, thank you very much, i would be screwed without your help
-
No worries at all. I’m sure you’ll get this done in no time. Just go to http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/ and put Gigya Video in the search box and you’ll find the appropriate instructions.
In the meantime, if that’s all you want the upgrade for, cancel it.
-
@cmt1355-You know, if you are talking about a podcast, I’m sure that somewhere there’s a file that ends in mp3. If so, you can simply use the URL of that file and embed it in your WordPress.com blog without the Gigya player. Have a look at the instructions here http://en.support.wordpress.com/audio/
If you want to be able to upload and store the file itself to your WordPress.com blog, all you would need is the 5G space upgrade.
-
This actually worked: I pulled the this out of the code and plugged it in.
[gigya src=http://player.wizzard.tv/player/o/i/x/130374639976/config/k-c360d33ef1e91e14/uuid/root]
Again, thank you, you’ve been most helpful
