Box to add URL for links suddenly does not pop up.

    I have maintained this blog for 10 years. It is a health education blog for a specific condition, so is always very heavy on text and links to research and resources.

    I am currently trying to write a post using a copied previous post from a year ago as a template. It was written in Classic and I am continuing to write in Classic.

    Suddenly, in mid-compose, I can no longer do basic linking. I was able to edit text and add several new links, and then this very simple function stopped. I highlight the desired text that I want to link, click the “insert/edit” link, and the text changes color as if linked, but the usual pop-up box to type or paste the URL or select prior blog content does not appear. If I click the link, it doesn’t go anywhere, of course, there is no box to edit, and if I “remove link” the color changes back. My browser is up to date. I have not changed any pop-up blocker settings in the last 2 hours or so while working on this post. Any help appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi there,

    Is this an issue with adding links to a specific page or blog post? or is this an issue that you have with any page or blog post you try to add a link to? Can you take a few screenshots of the issue so we can better understand? We want try to follow your steps as exactly as possible so we can take a closer look.

    Also, to clarify this is an issue with https://ibsimpact.wordpress.com/ yes? If this is an issue with your Dreamhost site we would not be able to look into that as we only have control over sites that are hosted with us directly.

    Yes, thank you, I know the difference between WordPress.com and self-hosted sites.

    Whatever it was seems to have resolved itself overnight. If it recurs, I will come back. Thank you.
