Brace yourselves! MS Edge is coming…

That would depend on whether “we’re” using a Microsoft, Apple, Linux or “Other” operating system … Personally I use Windows 7 and Linux, and to a lesser extent IOS, so the I part of “we” probably wouldn’t need any preparation.
Is there a support question here ?

@doncharisma- Thanks for your input.
According to Microsoft, a whole new web browsing experience is coming along with my free download of Windows10. So, yes, there is a support question here.
I’d like to know from Staff whether the interaction with WordPress.com is expected to be as friendly in Edge, when it is released, as it is now using the latest Chrome or Firefox (YMMV), which is why I’ve tagged this thread with modlook.
All the best.

You’re welcome, I’m always happy to offer support to a fellow blogger. I had a peek at the hype page on Microsoft … only time will tell … I don’t see anything radically different, but perhaps you dug deeper than I.
Chrome MMDV/MMHV and Firefox not, as it is on the whole is more stable and uses less memory … Internet Explorer I found on balance to be the best of the bunch on Windows in terms of speed, reliability and memory consumption, but still prefer Firefox/Waterfox (or Iceweasel which comes as standard on some Linux distributions)
Anyway, it will be a nice job for WP.COM, WP.ORG and all the theme developers if Internet Explorer X is radically different from previous, although I suspect it won’t be.
I’m sure one of the staff will set your mind at ease as to the readiness of WordPress for Edge – Matt surely is working into the wee small hours making certain it is …
Cheers

As you hinted with your YMMV comment, these things can be difficult to quantify. But generally speaking, the more standards-compliant a browser is, the more likely you’ll get results consistent with other browsers that support web standards. And we do have folks here testing on Edge, too.
I hope that helps!
