Bracket (">") when posted and containing link spits out non-sense/error

    Hello,

I have been journaling with WordPress, and I have been seeking to use Modern Language Association format (if but a skew from such) for posting weblinks with reference items. However, one of the brackets ends up being a garbled series of ASCII characters, for which I’m not sure why such ASCII combination is presented upon posting.

For instance, if I were to generate a journal entry with the following <https://wordpress.com/forums/?new=1>, it would not display the “>” bracket but instead present some kind of garbled information. I have not been able to discern why. My presumption is that the issue is something the WordPress developers have not been accounted for, which I think is unusual because I presume many developers with an education have a concern for various types of formats (such as Modern Language Association or American Psychological Association) being used in essays, writings (“typings”), etc.. Granted, I have been fond of the American Medical Association format at many times, sometimes I rather not use such style.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It appears to me that the Modern Language Association (“MLA”) format that I have used is out-of-date. I guess that I should not worry about presenting links with such brackets for keeping in line with MLA-format because format is out-dated (no longer being used for research presentation).

SOLVED unless someone has a counter-argument in relation to this issue.

  • Hey there! Sorry we missed this earlier. If you’ve got a sample post (it can be private) that has this issue, we could double check.
