(brand new at this) I think I deleted my homepage?

  Yes I realize this makes me a massive “noob” but I think I deleted my homepage when I was trying to edit it… now I’m stuck with this page: http://fortyounces.wordpress.com/

  which constantly says “Nothing found.” …Whenever I make a new post it adds it to the bar but doesn’t change the homepage at all. What do I do? Apologies on the dumb nature of this question…

  When you delete the Hello World placeholder post this is the result – 404 (page not found). Not to worry because as soon as you publish a post (not a page) it will disappear.
