brand new blogger- how do i add headers?

    i’m trying to create a portfolio blog and want to add categories to the top of the page. all it shows now is ‘about,’ ‘archives,’ and ‘rss feed.’ i was hoping to make my blog look a little something like this: http://promisetangeman.wordpress.com/

    did this user use the ‘pages’ function to create the about me/design/fine art links? i tried that but nothing shows up on my blog.

    …help!

    The three ‘about,’ ‘archives,’ and ‘rss feed’ are hard coded in that theme (about page is with every theme). You add more pages it will appear in the top.

    I suggest you change the theme to cutline or some other theme. Read how to add a page and add it. Also read the difference between posts and pages in the WP help. Some themes do not have the header navigation by default. You may not want to use those themes.

    Read all the help topics on WordPress. You may also visit http://onecoolsite.wordpress.com and read the basics/WordPress blogging entries.

    Good luck! Please read more and you will learn it all. I learnt it all by learning and struggling.

    Those items in the top navigation on the referenced link, I’m engaged, about me, design, fine arts, photos, are pages that the blogger has created.

    When you create and publish pages, then they will show up in the top navigation on your blog as well.
