Breaking Footnote?

    I regularly use footnotes in my articles, using the <sup></sup> commands. The problem is that I haven’t figured out a way to keep the footnote with the preceding period when the browser word-wraps. As a result I end up with a stray footnote in the next line.

    I can always fix the problem by inserting <br> before the concluding word of the sentence, but I just wish there was a way to always keep the footnote with the preceding period when the browser decides to wrap the text.

    Any ideas?
