Breaking P2 Theme Video Embed

  I am setting up a test site using the P2 Theme – one of the “Features” of P2 is making links automatically – normally this fine – but when I put a link to WordPress TV and one of the videos – the video was automatically embedded, normally this is good, but on the WordPress TV page there were some other links – so this time the “feature” is a bit annoying

  Any thought on how to have a link that does not embed the video? Guess I could put a link to the Word Camp SF 2013 for the time

  Hi auxclass,

  Sorry we missed this thread earlier.

  You should be able to add a video as a link, using the normal text or visual editor link button, and the video will appear as a link rather than an embedded video.

  If this isn’t working properly for you, please let me know.

  I added a 3rd video after this thread was started, the one on o2 and it also embedded the video & not the link – P2 turns everything into a link – no need to use the link thing – just insert a URL and it turns into a link you can click on – something about P2 – the only theme I have seen that does that – nice in some ways on the other Posts I made.

  The workaround was to put a link to Word Camp SF just before the videos with a note about downloading them. After a bit of a grump the workaround I used is fine – now the big problem is getting the people that P2 can help to read the reason why and then to implement it.

  Thanks for looking – me thinks it is a “feature” of P2
