Bringing mysql backup back to a disappeared WordPress

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi there, I have a blog that runs off of my website. Recently, in order to update to the new version of WP I updated my hosted database to PHP5.5/SQL6. All went well. I now have my WP sitting idle – but complete – on the new SQL6 database. I deleted the mysql2 database and saved all information: username and password to be the same as the previous SQL database in the hopes that WP would simply point at the new – and exact same database – without having to touch the elusive wp-config file. Of course this isn’t the case because the previous was mysql2 and this is mysql6.

I have no access to my wordpress and when searching for the wp-config file on my host database, nothing is found.

I would really love to get my WP reconnected to it’s content.

    Many thanks for all assistance!

‘Reconnecting mysql database to it’s original WP shell’ is the topic. Sorry about that. When I visit my blog I receive this message “Error establishing a database connection” and I do not even have the option of logging in.

    Thank you!
