Broadth of a homepage, themes and "Reply section"
-
Hey. I am a beginner in using WordPress, have never before used anything like that and have never created a Homepage beforehand. My task of my company was although, to create a homepage which I did as follows:
http://cutenclever.ie
http://cutenclever.ie/wp-admin/post.php?post=38&action=edit
(that’s the only page I have published yet so please don’t wonder).The homepage is very simple but I have no real knowledge about something like that.
One of my problems is the broadth of the pages. The various pages are to wide and I would like to make it smaller so that it’s not so empty. How can I do that? Does that depend on the template? To solve this problem I have thought about changing the design that way that it looks like this homepage http://www.small-tall.com/ . With that I mean more or less having a nice background picture or just any colour at the left and right site like the grey frame is showing at the homepage above and inside of this frame my homepage with text and so on.
Or is there a setting where I can change the whole size? At the moment I use the theme “Circumference Light”.Secondly, when I would use another template is there the danger that I have to write the text and create the whole design again?
Lastly, I would like to get rid of the “Leaving a reply” section which appears on every single page. How is that possible?

Hi @fabiennefalle, it looks like you are using WordPress but you are not hosted here at WordPress.com. For self-hosted WordPress sites such as yours, I would suggest asking for help from the theme author directly or ask in the volunteer-based WordPress.org Themes and Templates forum.

The differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.
I took a quick peek at your site and the content width is set as a maximum width in the .container div. This would be the original CSS. You can adjust it as desired.
`
.container {
max-width: 990px;
}If you have not yet done so, I would suggest creating a child theme so that any customizations you make will not be overwritten by a future theme update. Alternately you can use the Edit CSS function in the Jetpack plugin, or use one of the other Custom CSS plugins that will keep CSS changes from being overwritten.
