Broke my website when I changed the URL
-
I had a development site as a subdirectory under my main URL (http://wordpress.comn/churchofcassopolis). The owner of the site changed the name, so I stupidly changed the URL in WP Admin without checking to see what would be affected. The new site is http://core323.com/brakenchains. Now, I can’t get to the development site with either URL nor can I get to the WP Admin page for either site to reset it. I have lost all of the development I have done, and I can’t switch it back. Help!

My first URL was incorrect in the original post. The original URL was http://core323.com/churchofcassopolis. The URL I tried to change it to was http://core323.com/brakenchains. This is a WordPress.com hosted site.

I have to correct myself again. The original URL was actually http://core323.com/cassopolis

This isn’t a WordPress.com hosted site, but here’s a helpful page on changing your site address in a self hosted site: https://wordpress.org/support/article/changing-the-site-url/
core323.com is a site hosted on GoDaddy’s servers.
To clear up confusion, WordPress.com is a host, but WordPress.org is the software.

Wow! It’s been so long since I set it up, and because I always access it through my sites when I log into WordPress.com that I forgot I set it up on GoDaddy. I was able to edit the database table and fix it in GoDaddy. Thanks for your response and helping to get me on the right track. Thanks!
