Broken category view on menu

  I corrected a typo on a category name, now the link to that category is broken on the menu

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi @mlrideas,

  I don’t see a broken menu link on https://mlrideasblog.wordpress.com/. Is this the blog you’re working on? If not, let us know the one you’re talking about.

  Try going back into your Customizer and edit the menu. Deleting the menu item with the typo and adding back the same Category menu item with the corrected spelling should fix your issue.

  How does that take care of the linking issue?

  Sorry, meant to reply that I’ve watched everything tutorial on wordpress. I’ve done a work around by creating a tag of the same term as the category, then added the tag to every post that had been tagged with the category and changed the menu to include the tag… at least users can get to the filtered list by clicked the drop down….
  person who set up the site created waaaay too many categories and sub categories. I had to make single-character changes to two categories and both links no longer work.

  I’m sorry you’re dealing with that. I’m not exactly clear if you got it solved for now or not by cleaning up and using the tags.

  Since we don’t have access to the Intelink site, we won’t be able to help very well. These forums focus on the WordPress.com-hosted product, partly because staff can log in and help people with issues as they arise within their account. For items that fall out of that control, there’s a strong support community for the self-hosted flavor of WordPress at WordPress.org’s support site. They can deal with PHP-level problems if that’s what you’re facing.

  I remain puzzled why erasing and adding the category back to the menu didn’t solve that for you. I’m glad you have the tag workaround.
