Broken Emoticons
-
When selecting “Convert emoticons like :-) and :-P to graphics on display” my website shows a “?” in a small blue box where the graphical emoticon should be. I’ve tried several things including checking the the .gifs are present in the images folder as well as selecting and deselecting the option after clearing the cache. No joy. I’ve also tried different browsers on several different OSs. Still no joy. When viewing the error console, I get “Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 (Bad Request)” for any emoticon used.

That blog is not being hosted by WordPress.com. You are posting to the wrong support forum. This is the correct forum for your software http://wordpress.ORG/support/ If you have not registered a WordPress.org username account yet you can do so on the top right hand corner of the page I just linked to so you can post to those support forums.
