  Forgive me. I really wanted to start a blog and was encouraged by the ‘anyone can do it’, user-friendly attitude of wordpress.com so i went for it. So far i’ve managed to start a basic one and am learning as i go along. When people on these forums ask for help saying ‘bear with me as i’m new to this’ it then becomes clear that they are way, way more advanced than me!! So, seriously, I am new to this and not at all tech savvy. Here goes: I have a post ready to publish and it contains 3 images. One of those, the first, is always there, on edit and preview. The other two occasionally are there but more often than not appear ‘broken’. What this looks like is a little green square with a ‘crack’ through the bottom right corner. The caption to the photo’s are still there. I need the most user-friendly, I mean almost CHILD friendly help with this ;). I don’t want to go ahead and publish until this is sorted out.   Hello @personalpunk,

  Ideally, it should work. Let’s check the possibilities together.

  1) Any special unsupported character by theme in file name:
  Can you try adding any other image (with different title and size)? Preview the post and check if that works. You need to worry about the publish post as you can always keep your post in the draft untill you are ready to publish it.

  If the issue still persists, continue following below check:
  2) Try activating any other theme for your site (temporarily). This is just to figure out if we need to think further to cross-check around the theme or not.

  Thank you! So the photo file names have lots of numbers and a couple of these _ and they are jpgs. If I rename them, does it have to be .jpg at the end or can I just name them whatever I like? By the way, the last couple of times I have checked, they have been working fine so maybe it’s a glitch that just happens sometimes? Though previous to that, they were fine initially then after were mostly broken. I look forward to your reply, thanks, Steve
