Broken images after importing other blog

    Hi, I imported my other wordpress blog to my old blog. Now part of my photos in blog posts are broken. What to do?

    I have removed old wordpress blog and I have loaded it from my computer.

    Hi there, hope you don’t mind me adding something here.

    In order for attached media to be imported into a new WP site, the old site needs to be online. The reason is that the references in the export file refer to the old site. If your old site is offline/deleted, you’ll need to upload and insert those media files manually to the new site. Sorry for no better news.

    Hi,

    I checked out your blog, looks like certain posts have invalid content within the <img></img> tags on a post that break the images – perhaps it may have happened during the export/import. The images themselves are still available, so you can fix them by editing the posts individually (it’s troublesome unfortunately, but better than nothing!)

    Posts made prior to December 2015 (i.e from August 2015 onward) have images that work correctly.

    For instance, in this post :

    Here are the images I retrieved from the page in the order they were to appear :

    To fix other posts, right click on each broken image, and select “Inspect Element” in your browser (preferably something like Chrome) and you can retrieve the links just like above. They should be under the data-orig-file= tag.

    Once you have the links, just edit the posts individually to change the source of the image to the links you have.

    I’m afraid this is likely the only solution to get the broken images to appear again. If your older blog is still active somewhere, we could potentially try to export again to see if that helps.
