Broken link trouble after changing original url to custom

  I posted an article that was doing really well in google search results, until I made the mistake of changing the url to a custom one. After I did this, google penalized me with a broken link. Is there any way to correct this in wordpress.com?

  Google does not break links. They report to you which links are broken.
  Which URL are you referring to please?

  You are right, that should have read google penalized me FOR a broken link. Thanks for the quick response!
